Dear Blue Knights,
You may have seen recent reports about security vulnerabilities affecting PHP, the programming language behind a large share of the world's websites, including many built with content management systems such as Joomla. We would like to briefly let you know where the European Conference's website stands.
What we have done
- Our website runs on its own dedicated server, not on shared hosting where many websites share the same environment.
- The website software and all its components are kept up to date.
- Access to the administration area is protected by two-factor authentication.
- Technical interfaces that are not meant for the public have been closed to outside access.
- Components that were no longer needed have been removed, reducing the number of possible points of attack.
- Data backups are created automatically several times a day.
Do you need to do anything?
No. Your login for the members' area remains valid and does not need to be changed. As always, we recommend using a strong password that you do not use for any other service.
